This project commenced with an extended debate between the then leader of the Hari Krishna movement, Sri Bakidevvandra Swami Prabhubada, who to ensure satisfaction, wanted the design to be eclectic, and the Architect, who wanted to create a spiritual atmosphere, but in a modern context.

The end result tells the story and the temple was regarded as one of the leader's favourites of all Hari Krishna temples throughout the world.
